Polypus n. (pl. E. polypuses, L. polypi)

(Zool.) Same as Polyp.

(Med.) A tumor, usually with a narrow base, somewhat resembling a pear, found in the nose, uterus, etc., and produced by hypertrophy of some portion of the mucous membrane.
